Gofaone Mokalabae founded Thermoka Green Energy in Pampierstad, Northern Cape, to fight cold-chain failure in off-grid and rural clinics across the Global South. The Thermoka clinic cooler is the company's flagship, and the first of several clean-energy technologies it is developing.
His work starts at the level of system architecture: defining how a solution should behave before the infrastructure to build it exists, then bringing in the engineers, researchers and partners to make it real.
Systems Thinking
Each design tackles several problems at once. Thermoka 2.2 tackles cold-chain failure, grid dependence and energy storage together.
Built for the Last Mile
We design for the conditions rural clinics and communities actually face: unreliable power, heat, and long distances from support.
Honest Engineering
We work toward recognised standards like WHO PQS, and we only publish figures once they have been validated.
